It\u2019s been great to celebrate Cr\u00f3nica\u2019s twentieth. And we wouldn&#8217;t like to leave you without leaving just one more thing\u2026 So here it is, an end of the year, special release, exclusively through our Bandcamp page, \u201c20 Years \u00d7 180 Minutes\u201d, a 21-track mix revisiting Cr\u00f3nica\u2019s history throughout these first two decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In April 2023, Cr\u00f3nica was invited to celebrate its twenty years of ongoing activity at R\u00e1dio Eira \u2014\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/eira.osso.pt\/\">eira.osso.pt<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 a project by the OSSO collective that broadcasts in FM for the local communities in S\u00e3o Greg\u00f3rio and Caldas da Ra\u00ednha, Portugal. The first hour of the broadcast was dedicated to a conversation between OSSO\u2019s Ricardo Jacinto and Nuno Mor\u00e3o and Cr\u00f3nica\u2019s Miguel Carvalhais and Pedro Tudela, a talk focused on the label\u2019s activity and on collaborating, curating, and publishing experimental music and sound art in an ever-changing context. Following that, Carvalhais and Tudela conducted a three-hour live broadcast that revisited each of the more than 200 releases in Cr\u00f3nica\u2019s catalogue.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This mix was more than a walk down memory lane. Taking each year of Cr\u00f3nica\u2019s history as a unit, the mix developed an archaeology of the label. This retrospective and critical look framed every release in its chronological context while trying to understand them in the present. This was a look at the past with sights set on the future of continuing to publish, help produce, and distribute new music.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cronicaelectronica.org\/211\/\">20 Years \u00d7 180 Minutes<\/a><\/em> was selected and mixed by Miguel Carvalhais and Pedro Tudela in April 2023. The final track was updated in September 2023 to include all the year&#8217;s releases.
