There&#8217;s something smooth and seductive about Slavin&#8217;s work, which manages obliquely to reference ambient techno \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the terraced mix, the nearly regular click backbeat, the lush string carpet (check out &#8220;Search for Compassion&#8221;) \u00e2\u20ac\u201c without ever jumping across the fence into em:t territory.
